Gardenia

Gardenias are one of my most favorite flowers.  The smell is intoxicatingly amazing.

When I was a little girl we always had gardenia plants in our yard.  One of our summer traditions was to pick individual flowers and float them in water.  I just loved it.

Well in our apartment complex there is one itsy bitsy gardenia plant.  Every time we talk past it my mood gets better.  I love it.  It brings me such joy.   Ever day I watch it and the other day there were 7 flowers on the tiny plant, but sadly the next day they were all gone.  I was really sad.  That afternoon I went over to my mom's house and decided to pick one as I was heading home.  I placed it in one of my tea cups and it adorns my home with the beautiful aroma. 

It truly makes me joyful!
