The Tray Display

A few days ago I stopped by TJ Max and found a couple items on serious clearance.  By serious clearance, I mean they had been marked down several times.  One of these items was a tray.

I just think trays are the best because they anchor and set up boundaries to a given area.  I've had my eye out for them recently and was pleasantly surprise when I found this try for $2.50.  It was originally priced at $29.99, then at TJ's it was priced at $14...so $2.50 was quite the deal.

I had a few ideas of what I would do with the tray, but when I got it home it all changed.

I placed the tray on the middle of my table and walked away.  As I was bopping around the house, it came to me.  I looked over at my cake stand with one tiny cupcake in it left over from the other day's Price is Right showing and decided to toss the cupcake (after I ate half of it---it was small!) and place it on the tray.  I liked the look, but it needed something in it.  I ran out to the patio grabbed my tea cup succulent and placed it in...beautiful!  I loved it right away!

Yesterday afternoon, I wanted to add something to the tray.  I tried a couple of things and was unsatisfied with the results.  I finally decided to fill the tray with sheet music twists that I had made from some old sheet music Josh had found for me.

I love the final product!
Beautiful and yet so simple.
