Chalk Full Day 2 of 5: Pizza Chalkboard

At a garage sale last weekend I got this pizza board for 25 cents.  I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but I knew that something would come to me.  My husband said I shouldn't have bought it, that it would probably just sit in our garage, but that afternoon I already started my little chalkboard/pizza board project.

I simply decided to make it into a chalkboard for our kitchen/dinning area.  I painted the board with a few coats of none other than my tool of choice this week...chalkboard paint.

Then primed it and got to work writing one of my favorite verses on it.  I quickly grabbed a nail and my hammer and hung it in place.

Yet once it hung there, it looked lonely.  It looked like it needed something more...but what?  Of course...twine.  What doesn't need a little twine?  So I pulled it down and added some twine to the handle and rehung the board.

What an improvement!  It needed a little texture and a little color.

It is a perfect addition to our kitchen and dinning area.  It is also a great reminder of truth for me when my living room gets a little out of control-yes Christ is sufficient for me!
