Seaside Summer Home

It is a beautiful Summer Saturday and although I wasn't able to make it down to the beach today, the beach is still near.  Its days like these that having a touch of the beach in my home is much needed!

One of my favorite parts of this summer season has been adding touches of the beach into my home.  I think it is so nice to have a little nature inside to really help you feel each season and summer is no exception.  Ever since I was in high school I've always dreamed of having a seaside home with seaside decor.  Now reality has set in and as a pastor's wife that dream will most likely never be a reality, but I decided I don't need to live near the sea to incorporate a fusion of seaside decor into my home.  Elements of the beach are sprinkled throughout our house this season.  It all began with my mantel.

I then added a few touches to my bookshelf.  Shells and sand dollars are such a precious part of the sea.

I love how this piece puts each shell on display and allows you to focus on the beauty and intricacy of each shell.

I've also added a bowl of sea treasures to our table.

Additionally I put a few of my favorite shells in a milk glass pot.

I'm loving the seaside feel to my home.  The a hint of the sea is a perfect reminder of the things I love.  It keeps me in the summer spirit--which is perfect for this lovely Summer Saturday!

Happy Summer Saturday friends!
