Fabulous Fall(ing Into Place)

Today feels so much like Fall!  It is windy and cloudy and rained for about 10 minutes...it must be a Southern California Fall Day!

In honor of Fall...I'm trying to get nice and organized!  Trying to make sure that everything is falling into place!

Josh and I have always had a message board station in our kitchen to organize our schedules, collect receipts and coupons, and try to stay organized.  Well what once was organized, turned into a big old mess!  The mess needed to go (especially since one of the boards fell off)!

I had bought a magnet board quite a few months ago.  I'd painted it white and then sanded it down a bit to see some of the green paint underneath.  I wasn't a huge fan of it and so it sat in my den for a few months.  This week I was inspired to get it back up and so I painted it with a dry brush technique so that only the raised parts of the frame would take the paint giving a two-toned look to the frame.  I decided I was happy with it.  Then I needed to decide what elements were necessary to create an organizational piece without all of the clutter.

First I wanted to have my Keep It Clean weekly schedule as I use it daily to keep myself on track.  All of the magnets are made out of clothespins which I painted.  This makes it easy to put up more than one paper under each category.  This is great because I have about 15 copies of my cleaning schedule so that I'm not having to print a new one each week!

Then I wanted to add our monthly calendar and a grocery shopping list.  I love having our grocery list there because as something comes up I write it down and then when I'm planning meals, I just add to the pre-existing list.  I simply attached a shopping cart decal to one of my clothespin magnets to make a specified grocery shopping list.  This works great and I love it!

I also added a little banner to celebrate our family since this is a constant point of reference for us!

I love this board!  I love the way it transformed our kitchen (it is a much cleaner look).  I love that it keeps us organized!  I love that it has been working for a week!

I party here
