Chalk Full Day 4 of 5: Chalkboard Tissue Box

Happy Thursday friends!  Sorry about the delay for my post...it has been quite the busy day and I've experienced some Blogger problems.

Today's project is a good one.  I took an old, tired, hand-me-down tissue box holder and transformed it into something modern and fun.  I plan to send it to my husband's office because with allergies, I always need a tissue and he doesn't have any in his office...so I'm thinking solution.

With my first three chalkboard projects, I found that I was having to use a couple of coats of paint.  I wanted to try to avoid that this time.  I decided to experiment to see if I just needed to prime the surface with another coat of paint (a paint that would go on more evenly).  I chose to use spray paint as a base coat ....

.... and then paint on top of that coat with chalkboard paint.

Of course I then primed my board (take a look at day 1 for more on that).

Then got to have some fun!
